Here is my character design as you can see i am quite far through in the process of making my character. as well as i went for the suit look for my character as i think it fits the back story of my character.

As I'm doing a human character i have looked a lot at the human anatomy and this image has helped me with ensuing i have muscles in the correct places.

This is picture taken by Howard Schatz to show all of the body compositions of an Olympic athlete. as well as to show that there is no overall perfect body compositions however these Athlete's have perfect body compositions for their preferred sports. for example a runner would have an Ectomorph body type meaning their body is very lean because it's perfect for their sports. How this relates to my character is that he has the perfect body for what he does and in this case it is, infiltrating the town he was kicked out of so he has to be very agile as well as able to fight his way out of any situation.

Here is some work from Petrauskas they do a lot of art based around people and cowboys steam punk art, and i personally find there art really good. As you can see in the pictures above there theme fits my style of Cowboy's however it has gone with a lot more of mechanical form and the colours are of a lower saturation however this helps me with my design due to i know the limit i want to go to with the mechanical part of my design.

Here is my picture with shape dynamics. these triangles represent Aggression and masculinity. although my character looks young i will add facial hair on to him. but all these triangles does effect my character's personality

Here I have the colours which i will be using in my character design, I have wide variety of colours and i tried to use a lot of low saturation colours as they have a strong resemblance to power and curiosity
for example Black has a link to power and as my character was the sheriff of the town i think it fits well. as he was classes as authority and a higher up. however now he has been kicked out of his town and has to be very sneaky he wears a bandanna which is red due to the colour represents the meaning of sneaky.

Here i used a technique where you first draw out your beard on your character’s face and once you are done, you then go to filters “Noise/ add noise” you then choose how much noise you wish to add. after you have done that you then choose your marquee tool and choose the circular one. you then draw a circle around your beard and then go to filter- “blur/ radial blur” and make sure you have zoom ticked once that's done just press okay and you will have your texture of a beard.

Here is my other pose for my character. i had to use a reference image for the side view of the dreads as you can see in the picture. i found it quite difficult to get the correct angle with the hair as it's from the side. Although I managed to over come the challenge.

Evaluation
The task for my project was to create a Creature or Character within the style of steam punk and to create a turnaround for the creature or character as well. We used several software's such as Photo shop, PowerPoint and Word document all of these were used to boost my ideas and help to develop them as well. as well as i used Digital painting where i would use a lot of different techniques such as motion blur and the noise features to create the design for my clothes. and Paper and pencil for my drawings too. How i was influenced during coming up for the idea of my design was the from the film "Wild Wild West" and the game "West Worlds" these two influences have a strong cowboy themed throughout the whole movie and Series.
as well as those two influences I already had a interest in cowboys as I always thought they were cool, however I came across a few problems throughout the start process of my character, as i never knew how to start of the body of my character because i never had any references to go off originally, but i manged to get a life pose of a fellow student so i could have an idea of how to approach my design using the model pictures. Once i had the body down for my character i started to look at the different art styles i possibly could go to then, I came across Sci-Fi Realism an example of this art style would be from the Game called "Halo" which is a very popular game which involves space soldiers from the distant future. What helped me in the design of my character was research about cowboys and steam punk genre so I could have a general knowledge of how I want my character to look and what was appropriate to use with my character. and what wasn't over the top. i had a lot of secondary research and resources to help with my hair for my character as it was quite challenging. also I had research for cowboy boots as i never knew how to draw them correctly, But i manged to over come this task with practise as well as iteration sketch sheets
How I think I could of made my project easier as well as more enjoyable, I could done a lot more referencing of the stuff I needed. As well as i could of experimented with a lot more ideas and designs of characters and in the future I will spend a lot more time on doing re search than focusing all on my character due to i wasn't able to give a correct representation on how cowboys looked. If I had the chance to improve or to develop my design anymore I would focus more on the skin for my character as I originally I wanted to have my character Dual heritage (Mixed Race) but he came more out of as a tanned white. however it still does fit my design and i am still proud of my work and i am happy with the final outcome
