Homecoming
(Story)

The blazing light emitted from the sun shone brightly all across the sea. The crashing waves jumped towards a wooden boat, in this boat, a small refugee had been sitting uncomfortably inside. They had travelled far across the sea to get to paradise, and this paradise was known as England.
This young refugee was afraid of the man-devouring sea, yet the refugee did not stop as they had a brave soul.
An island was in sight, and the refugee was eager to jump off their boat and dance on the newly discovered land.

At last, the refugee had touched land for the first time in months, they had arrived at a dock which was full of huge ships and small fishing boats, yet there were no people in sight.
(Walk forward)
A voice out of nowhere was heard “Over here, refugee”. It was a crooked old man with a worn out walking stick. “I’ll take you to the orphanage now”
(The old man will go off-screen, lets player explore) (Level 1)
(When at the end of level…)
“There you are!” croaked an old voice. “This is an orphanage” said the old man, while pointing his cane towards the gigantic building.
(You both enter the refugee centre…)
The first thing you see when you enter is other refugee children running around, laughing as they try to catch each other in a game of tig-tag. Different variety of refugees was here, all from different countries. A rustic voice is heard “Go on refugee, explore this place”. Filled with excitement, the refugee explores.
(The old man will go off-screen, lets player explore) (Level 2)
(When at the end of level…)
Night time had come around, and so, the time where the refugee could finally get a peaceful rest without any worry of sinking to the depths of the sea. However, the refugee wanted to explore even more, so they silently tip-toed over the old wooden floor that would creak with the wrong move.
(The player will have to walk at the right time and/or right tiles, etc.) (Level 3)
(After successfully sneaking forward)
(When at end of level)

The silent refugee had seen a small figure near the front doors of the orphanage but it was too hard to see who it was in the darkness of the night. They had quietly opened the door to let in a slight ray of moonlight and had closed it behind them gently. The curious refugee had followed the dark figure out, and the moonlight’s beam of white light had shone on the person. The person revealed was another young refugee who you had seen before but had not remember their name.
(Player can explore) (Level 4)
(When at end of level)
The other refugee had turned around suddenly; a giant grin had begun to show on the other refugees face as they took out a muddied football from underneath their jacket. As the other refugee dropped the ball, they spoke, “Hi, I’m Paul, what’s your name”. The refugee had not gotten familiar with the English language yet so they could not reply. Paul had gently kicked the ball to the refugee and had understood that the refugee was still new to England and shouted with excitement “Let’s play!”
(1 v 1 Football level) (Level 5)

Evaluation of project

Our game was about a boy/girl who has to take on the challenge of traveling to school by themselves.
How our game made the brief was because our challenge was to design a game for people who have newly entered the country and are struggling. So we made a game where they are going to school whilst being tasked by challenges.
There were a few aspects I did not like about the brief; one of the things I did not like was the reason we had to make the game. Because it never allowed us as a group to expand and be creative because in the end we would all have the same game.
I think I was suited for my job role because I can easily design structures and assets.
I liked working within a team although I never liked a few people within the group I did not personally get along with but I overcame that to get my work done.
There good points were making a company and having meetings like an actual business.
The bad points were people never had great time management and some weren’t giving one hundred per cent due to them not being in every day.
I don’t think I gave my best in the project because although at the start of the project I was working very well over time other people’s attitudes rubbed off on me.
What would of made this project easier by making the groups a bit smaller or changing the project to where we decide the game.
I was pleased with the final outcome although there are always things you want to change of games.

What I have taken from this project is to ensure the group is smaller and to have people who will be in everyday and actually do the work.
