This time line shows the advancmencts of quailty in games as the years advance and how the demand of games expectations increase also. The games also reflect my personaility in the games i like.

My Brushes In Photoshop
We made ink brush designs by getting objects such as a toy tracktor and dipped it within ink and started drawing different objects or shapes, as well as using tracktors we used paint brushes which help to give a much more detailed brush. once we had the designs we uploaded them to our computers and and placed them on photoshop. we then got rid of all the unwated areas e.g. the white paper. afterwards we then turned the contrast up of the image from the image option within photoshop, once the contrast was up we then went to edit and defined our brush and there we had one of ink brushes made and saved on our computers

Collage Creature experiment i took various organic images off the internet and i then used the select tool on photoshop do draw random shapes after i got a few amount of shapes i then started to put them together, and also copied them to design a creature out of my imagination and here are the results of what i have done after we have made out images we walked around to look at eachothers designs and voted on what we thought was the best as well as that we decided on our own pictures what was the best. the picture what was voted for the most was number 2 and i also chose number 4 as my best. The reason i chose number 4 as my best one was because i like the realism of the picture and how it looks like a crab. As well as that it grabs my attention alot however i will admit my number 2 creature isn't the best and quite francially not up to standards and i should be doing better.
also to make the process to go quicker once we had a picture from pressing CTRL + C on a picture and then CTRL + V to paste it on the page we then pressed CTRL + T to transoform the picture to make it bigger or smaller which allowed us to get along with the work quicker.

In the above drawing it is a follow on to my creature collage design which we did yesterday. what i did to achive this first stage i created another page on photoshop, and then copy and pasted my cretaure design on to the page afterwards i then made a new layer and turned down the opacity of the layer with the creature on. once that was done i then started to draw the out line of the creature with a soft and low opacity brush to make it easier in the future to blend the colours in which i choose. once i reached this stage i then saved my work as a jpeg and a photoshop file to then be able to upload to blogger and to also resume my work.

In
this piece we did an artist interpretation in Photoshop of a picture we liked,
once we had our picture we copied and pasted it into Photoshop. We then made
our grid on the picture to give us a more detailed perspective and to make sure
we had everything to scale. How we made our grid was by going to view then show
and once from show we went to grid and when the grid showed up we went to brush
and set the size to five and drew our straight lines by pressing shift and the
going over the lines with the brush. For our interpretation we had to ensure we
used the same brushes so at first I started with a hard and full opacity brush
to do the outline of the picture as it's a cartoon. Once I had my outline i
then went over my picture with a low flow and low opacity to find myself a base
colour for the whole picture

PEN TOOL EXPERIMENT ONE
we used the pen tool in today's lesson and the shortcut for the pen tool in Photoshop is the letter "P"
you start by pressing somewhere on your paper to create an anchor, afterwards you can then follow on from that anchor to make different shapes by move your wacom pen around. you can make curves or straight lines. once you're happy with your shape you then press ctrl enter to make it into a selection so you can just colour in that area or move it afterwards you can then press ctrl D to deselect the area

in this piece we copied over Shiam's shapes as accurately as possible and coloured them in to see what we missed

Anotatation questions of my creature
1) I came up for the design of my creature from two things which were a Pokemon called Darkrai and just a normal spider as you can see from the arms/legs of my creature
.
2}To make the collage of my creature i used several things such as ; Sea sponge, lava(magma) blackness as well as a stormy clouds.for me to form my creature.
3) I used the lasso tool on the images to create a random shapes, once I liked one I used the select tool to drag it across to another page to move around to make a creature. and when I came to the legs I pressed ctrl + j to make an exact copy of the legs so it looked neater.
4) What i personally liked about my collage is the sense of dominance it gives off with its evil and creepy shapes.
5) What i liked about my silhouette's is that they all seemed to give off their own personality and have their own quirky themes.
6) I made my silhouette by using the lasso tool again and the images which I liked and copied and pasted them and just played around with them.
7) I made my texture effect by blending in on the legs of my creature to show the lighter and darker areas of the legs as well as giving it definition.
8) the colours I chose for my creature design were the following ; Red, Black, Grey, Orange, Brown
9) I created my creature with in Photoshop.
10) I chose those colours because they give of a very evil feeling and nature.
12) I wouldn't change my creature design.

here are the results of a quick quiz we did in class my name is AJ(BD) and i came in second place.

Here is an animation by Christopher cox who is an animator within the company Bungie who have created many games in the past. why this piece appeals to me is because i like the whole sense of designing a charterer and bringing them to life. here we see Christopher doing a really good job of bringing characters to life

in the first piece of work we drew our hands with our first and dominant hands and we only had 5 minutes to do so i my self think i did a good job of doing it at first with my dominant hand. after wards we used various body parts like our; knee, elbow and chin in the second picture it is my elbow and although it is no where good i still think its decent for my elbow.
_________________________________________________________________________________
In the first picture it's my finalised creature which i made from my drawing observation today i started of with a ravens foot and started to think about other possible, animals i could add to it then i decided to add a rabbits head onto the end of the ravens leg bone and after a while of drawing i decided to change up the rabbits head and turn it into a dragon's head and then made the feet into a tongue of the dragon. why i chose these objects is because they stuck out more to me as a more creepier kind of object than the others which would give a better type of creature design for me.
in the second picture it was my initial drawing of where we used a plate over our pencil which made it very difficult to interpret where our lines were if we took out pencil of our paper. however it did make me concentrate a lot more on the finer details of my work. during this experiment i was using very faint lines for the start of my form so i could easily rub out any unnecessary lines. i thought doing this was very useful and made me think about my observational skills and to make me fully concentrate.

In this screen shots you can see my starting point of my picture which i hand drew the other day.
i started off by making a new layer and drawing/tracing over my picture to give me a form, afterwards i then started on the head and realised it looked a lot like a snapping turtle. so i started with a base colour of red to make it abstract. i then started to look at the little details of the turtle which i brought up from the internet and i decided to use a low opacity and soft brush to start with the mossy kind of substance on the turtles head.
The effect of using this measurement on your work allows you to have precise drawings, so nothing looks out of scale. they're many ways to accurately measure your drawings but the most officiant way is to use a pencil. you essentially hold your arm out straight and tilt your head and keep one eye open. afterwards you use the top of your pencil to the sharpener mark and you use that as a measurement this technique is called thumb and pen.

Here is my finished design of my creature i am very proud of what i have done and i think i manged to develop it to a high standard

Here i was tasked to do some shading on several objects such as; apple, ball and a light bulb. the task at hand was to start blending on the ball to make it look 3D i started at the opposite angle of the light source due to it would be the darkest part of the ball. I then started to gradually get lighter as i went up the ball. it is also good to stay to the shape of the object.
the first photo was inspired by Camellia Rose Henley She uses a lot of highkey light to hide all wrinkles as well as to give the picture a very alienated sense.

.jpg)
Here is an example of Camilla Rose Henley's picture style. this style is very unique as it shows no shadows and makes the object or person in the picture look very alienated
_________________________________________________________________________________
the second picture is inspired by Jim Ferreira this picture has a very focused light to show the image in one place as well the light sources are coming from two different angles being the top and bottom.

here is an example of Caravaggio's work, his work is very pinpointed on the background and the
foreground as we can see from this picture which is quite interesting.

My lighting was quite effective when representing my spookiness of my picture which i was going for. and my annotation of where my lighting is coming from. If i could do my painting again i would most likely change the way how the face looks because i don't think it gives a spooky/ creepy sense to it.
the background story for my creature. Is that it is a newly born creature what lives in the shadows and can only live in the shadows. as well as move through the shadows. this creatures lives of other organisms and needs to attach to the face of its prey to feed.

Level 2 End of project evaluation
My first project was about creatures and
creature designs. The materials I used to complete my project were the
following; Photoshop, pencil and paper, Ink and cameras. Photoshop was used to
digitalise all of my drawings as it offered lots of unique and interesting
brushes, to amplify my work. I used many brushes and brush strokes for example
a soft brush with a low opacity and soft flow allowed me to blend colours
together, to generate texture for my work.
Now pencil and paper was used for me to do
observational drawing as well as to do my facial sculptor drawings and hand
drawings. The Ink was used to create random shapes and patterns on a piece of
paper. Which we then used to create brushes on Photoshop from taking
photographs and uploading them and inserting them into Photoshop. Moving onto
Cameras throughout the whole project we used some sort of camera to take
pictures of our work to either make a digital art piece out of or to even just
upload a style of work from another artist. For example when we did the
Lighting task where we took pictures with different types of lighting.
The material I preferred to use was
Photoshop because it allowed me to explore my imagination and to extend my
capability. How I used digital painting in my creature design was I would use a
soft brush with low opacity and I would start off with a light colour and I would
start to build on that colour, gradually getting darker until I found a colour
which jumped out at me and was appealing. After I found the colour I would then start to
use black and white to make shaded areas as well as highlighting areas. Whilst we
were in the design period I was looking for objects what would go with my legs
preferably a head. I then noticed a rabbits head and I designed it onto the
legs and started to tamper with it to make it look how it is now.
I came
up with the idea of my creature from the film alien and the creature called a
face hugger. Over the past lessons I picked the skill of knowing my tonal range
and how to shade correctly, which is a very useful skill to know because it can
change your picture entirely. In the process
of making my final creature I only really used one type of brush which was a
soft brush with low opacity and flow. However
I used the lasso tool a lot to select a part of my painting to either copy or
to delete. The artist I would say who influenced my art the most would have to
be H.R Giger due to I essentially took the idea of a face hugger and did my own
interpretation. The game style I think
my creature would be something along the lines of dead space which is a horror/shooter
type of game. I never really used measurements within my drawing as it was not
of use for me. How I used lighting in my work was by choosing a point of the
light source and I made it quite bright there, I then started to go over my picture
just revealing all the necessary parts what needed to be seen. The effect of
the light source on my creature was that it portrayed the creature to be
scarier than it seemed. I was very pleased about how my work turned out and how
it has come across on my blog and as a whole I am very pleased with myself.
